Vacation Day 6

This day was sadly our last day in our villa at the Grand California so we headed to Long Beach mid-afternoon. We ate at one of our favorite seafood restaurant- Bubba Gumps (the cajun peel and eat shrimp is heavenly!) and took a harbor cruise. We all loved being out on the ocean with the ocean breeze (it was blistering hot outside otherwise!) and the kids did great.

This sea lion is showing you all exactly how I felt at this point in the vacation..... like a lard.... not only am I still packing some extra baby weight, but we definitely ate our way through California for the previous 6 days! That being said though, it was delicious and I don't really regret it... really...

Ava playing with her Toy Story "vinylmations" what a story behind these: WARNING LONG STORY AHEAD......So these little mickey mouse shaped vinyl toys are found all over the park and in Downtown Disney. I saw them last year in Disneyworld and again this time around and wondered what the big deal was.... well.... our last night (last 30 minutes to be exact) we walked past one of the stores and I spotted Toy Story vinylmations and decided to take a closer look. Ava isn't really into anything in particular like Disney princesses or anything, but she really loved Toy Story, and especially Jessie. Disney doesn't seem to think Jessie is super important seeing as they don't sell a Jessie costumn so I was ecstatic to see a vinylmation Jessie. I checked the little boxes looking for which one was her and could only see Buzz and Woody so I asked the clerk if he would get me a Jessie. He explained that part of the point to many vinylmatino characters is that you don't know what you're going to get. So you buy a box and open it up and open up the inside wrapper and - surprise! you're either happy or dissapointed.... So I decided to buy one.... Much to my chagrin I got "Big Baby" as Kari had predicted and we laughed so hard! The clerk then took it upon himself to take me to another store because you can trade it for a different one (apparently it's a new craze, people trade them amongst eachother and in stores, but it's not that easy to get what you want...) to make a long story short by the time we left Downtown Disney 16 hrs later- we had bought 10 Toy Story vinylmations and traded 5 times for mystery ones and ended up with pretty much crap (at least we got rid of Lotso and Unicorn...) We also found a little family who bought 6 while we were buying ours and they didn't get a Jessie either- seems rigged... it was fun buy luckily we left so we saved our pocket books!
