Fun Happenings

We've had a great last few weeks! We have done many fun things as a family and I even had a fun night out with the girls! Ava is growing up so fast as usual. She is getting so smart. She knows all her colors, can count to 10 in English and Spanish, can sing the ABC's, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and I am a Child of God. She currently has strep throat and an ear infection (which, thanks to the tubes in her ears is draining out of her ear!) but is stil happy as every. Sick times aren't the funnest, but fortunately this time we caught it all in time before she was very sick!

Sunday Afternoons....

We have 1:00 pm church so Ava doesn't nap at her normal 1 pm naptime..... She does really well, but is defninitely tired when we get home. We decided to put her down when we got home today and I woke her up a half hour later,needless to say- it wasn't pretty. Ava loves to sleep and HATES being woken up (which is why I never wake her up unless I have too!) Here are some

Holidays

We had such fun holidays! We started them out with the Ramsay's on Christmas Eve then Christmas day with both families, then back to Salt Lake for a few days. Then it was off to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans!! What a blast we had! We went with the Stirland's and some friends of ours. Go Utes!!! The following posts are in order of our funness :)

As of December 27th 2008 Luke and I have been married for 5 glorious years!! Best 5 years of my life and I can't wait for many many more. I got Luke a new tungsten wedding band since he lost his original one (sniff,sniff) and he suprised me with....... A new bigger diamond for my original wedding band! It is so beautiful- thanks hots!

New Orleans misc.

We did some other very fun things in the Big Easy besides the Sugar Bowl. We stayed in an amazing hotel and had great food. The usual alligator and frog legs.... We tried to avoid Bourbon Street whenever possible thank goodness!


Seeing the remains from Hurricane Katrina was humbling. This is an amusement park that is empty now- there was 17 feet of water in this amusement park at one point:

If you look close you can see the water line. The water was much higher, but this is the water line from the standing water for a long time.

We enjoyed one heck of a rain storm!! I have never seen a downpour like that. Some crazy family members decided to walk in it...

Probably one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. There is a NASA facility outside N.O. and there is an unused rocket booster from the Apollo missions. Can you believe this is only one third of a rocket ship!?
