We did some other very fun things in the Big Easy besides the Sugar Bowl. We stayed in an amazing hotel and had great food. The usual alligator and frog legs.... We tried to avoid Bourbon Street whenever possible thank goodness!
Seeing the remains from Hurricane Katrina was humbling. This is an amusement park that is empty now- there was 17 feet of water in this amusement park at one point:

If you look close you can see the water line. The water was much higher, but this is the water line from the standing water for a long time.

We enjoyed one heck of a rain storm!! I have never seen a downpour like that. Some crazy family members decided to walk in it...

Ava and "Bae Kate"
Kari got asked to cajun dance with an expert at Mulate's it was so fun. Luke and I danced and did......
......Ava! Although hers looks a little less cajun and a little more-- lyrical

Dad and Aves in front of the "Mighty Mississippi"

The rest of the fam

Probably one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. There is a NASA facility outside N.O. and there is an unused rocket booster from the Apollo missions. Can you believe this is only one third of a rocket ship!?

Any picture is fair game if it's on my camera...

Ava jumping

Can you spot the alligator head poking out of the swamp water???

Why did I post this picture!? Not even I can tell what it's of
