- When Ava FINALLY came out and they put her on my belly. For all you mom's out there (I know you have tears in your eyes thinking about this!) you know what a feeling that was!
- Ava being placed on the scale to see how much she weighed and her grabbing on to the side of it and holding for dear life
- Being wheeled to the recovery room in the wheelchair holding Ava and being so excited she was ours
- Watching the nurse bathe her for the first time, hearing her cry (sad!) and again being so excited that she was here and safe. And also getting to see how much hair she had for the first time!
- I have to say this one: after not eating for about 24 hours (and expending about as many calories as running a marathon) and eating the turkey sandwhich my nurse brought me and thinking I had never tasted something so good.
- The first night in the hospital and getting so excited every time the nurses brought her in during the night. I know- I was excited!- that quickly faded during the next few weeks during the night anyway!
- Spending hours and hours with Luke over the next few days in the hospital and just staring at Ava and feeling so much love and excitement over the times to come.
- Finally being able to utilize ALL the baby stuff we had accumulated over the previous nine months!!!
- The drive home from the hospital and Luke driving the slowest I had ever seen him!
- And last, but not least- bringing Ava into our home for the first time and knowing that our lives were forever changed for the better.
We are so blessed to have Ava in our lives. I can't really remember life before we had her and certainly don't miss it. Each and every day brings so much love and happiness- it's truly unlike anything else. We pray that we can be the best parents we can be and always have Ava know how much we love her!!!

This was a major event in Ava's life so I thought that I should post a picture. This was when she was in Primary Children's for RSV when she was 2 weeks old.... Scary time, but she pulled through.

Isn't it amazing how fast time really does go by. I'm in your same boat. My little Jace is going to be turning 1 next month and it just seems like we brought him home from the hospital. Ava sure is a cutie. I can't believe how different she looks now from when she was a baby. That was a fun little post to see how much she's changed. Maybe I'll have to steal your idea when it's Jacer's Birthday.:)

OHHHH Katy! That first year is just so sweet :) All those little precious moments are great but seriously, I totally agree with you about that turkey sandwich! It was a gift from above!!

Way fun when they turn 1. I love that pink hat in her early pictures, it is soooo way cute. As for daniel and pharmacy school, i am so sick of applications. But daniel and the person he is sent them in either the day before the due date or on the due date. so therefore we dont get to hear back from any schools untill later. But we will let you know, i just hope he gets in, althought i would love to come up there because I dont want to have to go anywhere far. but we will see. anyways, this is a novel, but we will let you know.
