Birthday pictures

Here are all the belated birthday pictures. Ava had two parties- one on Saturday with the Ramsays (I left my camera at Mindi's so I didn't get any pictures!) and one on Sunday with the Stirlands. We had so much fun and took about a thousand pictures. So sit back, relax, and get ready for tons of comedy and fun....

I thought this was a fitting picture to start out with- this is typical Ava!

Present from us to Ava. If any of you parents out there are looking for a way to minimize the toy mess- I hightly recommend this one. All the toys are pretty much attached. We took all Ava's old toys dowstairs and just keep this in the living room and what a different in the mess level it has made! Plus it's super fun for Aves :)

Let the present opening begin... Funny story: I have been wondering whose super super skinny leg this was (the grey thing) and just now did I realize that it is Luke's arm!! Not that it is a skinny arm babe, it's buff- I swear!

Opening more presents

and more (it's not that she got a ton of presents, more that it took forever for her to open even one of them and to move on to the next!)

The sweet sand/bath toys from Mindi, Gaige, and the kids. Thanks!

Jane doing something funny....

Ava taking a break to play with a little peice of string

The next three pictures are dedicated to Ava's favorite presents.... The sippy cups from aunt Kari. Isn't that how it goes!

Ava saying hi on her new phone from Kari and Spencer

The next three pictures are dedicated to my fabulous husband Luke. I figured if you pose for a picture, it is fair game. Luke- just be glad I chose these three and not the other ones!
SUPERMAAAAN

Could he be in a Coke commercial!?

Hots!

Beauts!

Jane doing something else funny

This is such a cute one

I bought this shirt for Ava seriously like 3 months ago because I loved it. In case you can't read it it says "birthday girl" on it

Cake time.... This is the infamous bunny cake that we have all had for our 1 year old birthdays. Thanks mom for being so creative. My dad kinda thought it could be a lobster.

Ava and Jane's special little cakes

Story: This might seem very strange, but Luke and I don't feed Ava refined sugar. It's has been tough sometimes, but because of it she is a really good eater and absolutely loves fruit! This was her first real experience (other than the few times she has been slipped some behind my back!) eating something real sugary and I was curious to see how it would play out.

She took one bite and then was done with it!

She really didn't like it. When she did this I was like "success!!!" I am sure that she will eventually be given some sweets, but I am just trying to prolong it as long as I can without being too weird.

The aftermath..
Ava and Jane took a bath to wash off all the cake

Splash splash!

Luke getting caught reading "soap digest!"
(no- JK, I planted it on him!)

That looked liked such a fun birthday!! Katy I think Ava looks so much like you, she is so cute! We are thinking about getting the kitchen thing for Lawson's birthday too, it just looks like so much fun! Loved all your pics!

Love the faces Jane and Ava make. Too cute! So funny Ava didn't like the cake. Our Ava could have devoured the whole thing on her own at her 1 year bday if we let her. We were good about the sugar intake, but it didn't pay off w/ her, she unfortunately inherited my sweet tooth!

Happy Birthday Ava!! I love the cake! What a awesome tradition! I also love the green Gymboree PJs. I tried to get my hands on those, but they were always sold out of them at Christmas time in Mads size. You got lots of great pictures!
